Respite care is short term care that gives primary caregivers a break from demands of constant care. Those who care for others who are chronically ill, have a disabling injury or suffer from a terminal illness can arrange in advance to have us take care of their loved one for just a short stay, from a week up to a month, so they can catch up on household duties, visit friends and family, or go on vacation.
Philosophy
The type of respite care provided depends on the needs of the individual. For an adult with a terminal or chronic illness, a respite worker may come to the facility to assist with care or simply provide companionship.
